Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is only 200 km from Trieste and the border with Italy, and just over 300 km from Vienna and Budapest. This historic city houses some of the most beautiful Christmas markets on the continent. The Croatian capital during Advent will welcome you with a typical Christmas atmosphere with the sound of Christmas bells, the scent of gingerbread, the aroma of mulled wine and the taste of various local delicacies. During the Advent season, Zagreb offers a series of events that satisfy even the most demanding visitors. Among the many attractions of the city during the Christmas period are the Ice Park (Ledeni park), the Living Nativity (Žive božićne jaslice), the fantastic advent tunnel (Advent u tunelu) and the many Christmas markets scattered around the city.

1) Zagreb Christmas Market (Advent u Zagrebu). The capital of Croatia has in recent years become one of the most sought after destinations for lovers of Christmas markets throughout Europe. Zagreb Christmas Markets have been repeatedly chosen among the best markets on the continent.
The markets take place in the beautiful city park of Zrinjevac (Advent na Zrinjevcu), in Europe Square (Advent na Europskom trgu), and on many streets and squares of the city. Children Advent (Kod Rudolfa – Advent za velike i male) takes place in the beautiful scenery of Strossmayer Square. The Christmas Fair (Božićni sajam) takes place in many streets and squares of the city such as Bogovićeva ulica, Gajeva ulica, Petrićeva ulica (trgovina), Varšavska ulica.
