Wiesbaden is an important German city capital of the state of Hesse, known for its thermal springs since Roman times, the city was one of the few German cities to suffer minor damage from bombing in World War II, its historic center retains still numerous buildings in the classic nineteenth-century style.
WIESBADEN CHRISTMAS MARKET
The Wiesbaden Christmas Market usually has many attractions for adults and children. There is generally a large skating rink, a huge Christmas tree, carousels and even the classic stalls with Christmas and handicraft products. The Christmas Market usually takes place in the festively lit central Castle Square (Schloßplatz).
1) Sternschnuppenmarkt Christmas Market (Wiesbadener Sternschnuppenmarkt). In the square where the market takes place there are 4 access doors decorated with the city coat of arms. The Christmas Market usually exhibits local handicrafts, including wood sculptures, toys, Christmas decorations, gastronomic specialties. For children, there may be a little train that goes around the large 30-metre high Christmas tree, a life-size wooden crib, games and Christmas carols, and the city is all lit up for the holidays.
