Villach (Villaco) is located in southern Austria near the border with Slovenia and Italy, the city rises along the Drava river at about 500 meters above sea level. An important mercantile center in the Middle Ages, it lost its importance in the 17th century with the forced emigration of its Protestant population. Villach still has a beautiful old town today which has its center at the Hauptplatz.
VILLACH CHRISTMAS MARKET
The Villach Christmas market (Villacher Advent) usually consists of two markets, one in the Old Town and the other in the park of the Park Hotel.
1) Villach Christmas Market (Villacher Advent in der Altstadt). The wooden stalls of the market are usually found in the center of this Austrian town and are arranged around the church of St. Jakob and offer the typical products and Christmas gift ideas. For children and teenagers there are games, the bakery, the fairytale forest, puppets, ice skating and a Christmas train.
2) Christmas Market in the Park Hotel Park (Villacher Kunst Advent im Park des Parkhotels). Arts and crafts market.
