Tourism occupies a significant place in the economy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland with arrivals of tourists from all corners of the planet. The country that was the largest colonial empire in history and has left evidence of its culture and language all over the world is today one of the most important and visited tourist destinations on the European continent. With world-class museums such as the British Museum and the National Gallery, but also with world-class parks, gardens and cultural attractions.

Other prominent tourist attractions in the UK are cities such as Edinburgh in Scotland, which after London is the most important tourist city in the United Kingdom. Or like Windsor with its castle. Oxford, Bath, Canterbury. Other notable tourist attractions in the UK are the numerous castles and museums scattered throughout the country. Wales is a very beautiful land with often little known natural aspects. Pristine coastal landscapes, seaside resorts, rugged mountain landscapes, a multitude of castles. In Northern Ireland the most visited destination is the famous Giant’s Causeway.
Scotland also has small fishing villages, castles, vast lakes, countless islands and fascinating natural landscapes. The Scottish Highlands are together with Loch Ness, where a prehistoric monster is said to live, and the city of Edinburgh are the main destinations for a trip to Scotland. The nature of the United Kingdom is protected by 15 National Parks and numerous protected areas.
