Tourist attractions of the Balearics Islands: what to see

The main reasons for a visit to the Balearic islands are the beauty of the landscapes and the sea of the islands and the rich and unbridled nightlife of some of these, in particular Ibiza. These are in fact the main tourist attractions of the Balearics Islands.

Majorca, the main island of the archipelago is rich in natural beauty such as the beautiful and wild northern coast. The island is also an interesting destination for historical and cultural tourism thanks to the interesting buildings of its capital Palma de Mallorca and some smaller towns.

Ibiza is considered the young island, characterized by the search for the wildest fun and the intense nightlife. But Ibiza also reserves many surprises for art lovers, the old town of Ibiza. The main center of the island is in fact a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Menorca is a relatively quiet island when compared to other islands. Noteworthy are the landscape attractions such as those found along the wild and picturesque northern coast. Also interesting are the historical vestiges represented by prehistoric monuments, remains of the Roman era, ruins of early Christian churches, buildings and fortresses from the Islamic, Spanish and English periods.

The small and peaceful island of Formentera has as its main attraction in its beautiful coasts and in its white sandy beaches.

TYPICAL PRODUCTS OF THE BALEARIC

The Ensaimada is a delicious sweet pasta, used for breakfast, typical of Mallorca, you will find it in every Mallorca bar. The Mahón cheese typical of the island of Menorca is a cheese made from cow’s milk. Menorca Honey is a product often used in the preparation of desserts.

Sobrassada is a red sausage made with pork to which paprika, salt and pepper are added.

Famous is the Balearic Islands Wine (Binissalem, Pla I Llevant and Vinos de la Tierra). Herbes and Palo are typical liqueurs from Ibiza and Majorca. While Gin Xoriguer is a typical Menorcan liqueur made with grape wine flavored with juniper berries.

Le Avarques is a type of leather shoes with a rubber sole used on the island of Menorca. Other typical products of the Balearic Islands are Artificial Pearls, Glass Crafts and Leather Goods.
