The state of Rio Grande do Norte has a warm tropical climate, with significant differences in rainfall between the hot and humid coast and the hot and dry interior. Temperatures are fairly constant in every season of the year and vary between the hottest month and the coldest month by a few degrees.
The hottest months are from October to February, while the coldest months are from June to August. Inland the climate is semi-arid with long periods of drought and scarce rains, the annual average varies between 500 mm and 800 mm, the rainiest months are those from February to May.
The sea water temperature varies between 26 ° C in the winter and 28 ° C in the summer months.

The best time to visit the north coast of Rio Grande do Norte are the driest months between June and January. While along the east coast the best months are between September and January. Inland the best months are the winter months between June and August.
