Plombières-les-Bains, is a famous spa resort located in the southern part of Lorraine, on the border with Franche-Comté, 30 km south of Épinal. The city due to its appearance and the beautiful flowered balconies that characterize it has been nicknamed the city of a thousand balconies (Ville aux mille balcons). The thermal properties of its waters were already known to the ancient Romans, in the city center there are the remains of some buildings of the ancient Roman baths. The spa town offers therapeutic waters but also the possibility of having massages, mud treatments and beauty treatments. Plombières-les-Bains is located along the Augronne valley and is surrounded by vast forests. During the Christmas period, the Plombières-les-Bains Christmas Market is the busiest and most important event in the city.

1) Plombières-les-Bains Christmas Market (Marché de Noël). Thematic market, one of the most authentic in Lorraine, the theme of the market varies every year but the four weekends in which the market usually takes place are still focused on the culinary specialties of the region, on Saint Nicolas, on Christmas traditions, on ancient crafts, on nativity scenes and farm animals. The market is usually made up of 3 villages of wooden chalets with a total of over 100 exhibitors, one village is dedicated to local crafts (Village des Artisans d’Art), another to Christmas (Village de Noël), the third to the local gastronomy (Village Gourmand).
