PARAGUAY: DOCUMENTS
Documents: To enter Paraguay you need a passport valid for more than the period of stay. Even children and minors must have a personal passport.
Entry visa: Usually no visa is required for tourist stays not exceeding 90 days of stay in the country. For citizens of some particular countries a visa can be requested.

PARAGUAY: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Healthcare: Paraguay’s public health facilities have rather poor standards when compared to what we are used to in Europe. In the capital Asuncion there are some good private clinics. But private health care is expensive. It is obviously highly recommended for the traveling tourist to take out health insurance.
Vaccinations: There is no obligation for any vaccination.
PARAGUAY: MOBILE PHONES AND INTERNET
Telephones: The international dialing code for Paraguay is 00594. International calls made from Paraguay are expensive.
Mobile Phones: The technology used in the Paraguay network is that of D-AMPS, GSM, UMTS, HSDPA.
Mobile operators: Tigo, Personal, Claro, Vox.
Internet: Internet cafes are found in major cities. Often hotels of a certain level have free WIFI internet available to customers.
PARAGUAY: POWER PLUGS AND ELECTRIC SOCKETS
Electricity: The electric current in Paraguay is 220 Volts, 50 Hz.
Electrical outlets: The power plugs and sockets used in Paraguay are type C outlets. The electrical outlets in Paraguay are practically the same as the two round plug sockets that are used in Europe. For the European traveler, therefore, it is not necessary to bring a universal adapter.
PARAGUAY: CURRENCY AND BANKS
Currency: The monetary unit is Guarani-Gs (PYG).
Banks: Bank opening hours in Paraguay are as follows: open Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 15.30. ATMs are usually widely available, especially in major cities. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants.
