Located not far from the border with France and a few kilometers southeast of Brussels, Namur is the capital city of Wallonia, the French-speaking part of Belgium. Among the city’s tourist attractions we find: the fortified citadel that dominates it and the cathedral, whose bell tower is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (part of the Beffrois of Belgium and France). Every year, during Christmas, a hundred wooden houses occupy the Place d’Armes, the Rue de Fer and the Grognon, in the center of the city of Namur in Wallonia. With its chalets, the Namur Christmas Market offers a wide range of gifts and delicacies, artisanal flavors and Christmas items. To cheer visitors during Christmas there will also be concerts, choirs, bands and folklore shows that will enliven the streets of downtown Namur every weekend. It seems that Santa Claus will visit Namur every week…. Is this true?
