Münster Christmas Markets

Münster is an important city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Münster rises in the center of a very rich plain from an agricultural point of view, the city is known for its very important university and for its beautiful historic centre. The city was founded in the Middle Ages, soon becoming an important commercial centre, which became part of the Hanseatic League. The ancient university was founded in 1780. Among the most important buildings are the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral, the ancient town hall (Historisches Rathaus) in Prinzipalmarkt and the 14th century Lambertikirche.

MÜNSTER CHRISTMAS MARKETS

In the historic center of Münster there are usually a total of six Christmas markets with over 300 stalls. The largest and oldest of these Christmas markets is the market which takes place in the courtyard of the Town Hall which is made up of over 140 stalls.

1) Münster Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmärkte in Münster). The city of Münster hosts a Christmas Market with over 300 stalls filling the squares of the old town, you will find stalls in the courtyard of the Town Hall, around the Lambertikirche, in the Platz des Westfälischen and in many other corners of the old town. In Kiepenkerl you will find a real Christmas village. The Christmas events are not limited only to the Christmas Market, but typical Christmas carols and choirs are organised, you will find a beautiful nativity scene, many sweets stalls and Christmas cuisine specialities, and a large carousel for the amusement of the children.
