The tierras frias are found at altitudes between 1,600 and 2,800 meters, in this climatic zone is also the capital, Mexico City (2,420 meters high), the climate here is temperate, the rainy season is the summer between June and September, on average this area has values around 800 mm of rain per year.

Finally, the tierras heladas are the areas of Mexico at heights above 2,800 meters, here the climate is mountain type. In these areas glaciers and perennial snow are present at heights above 4,800 meters.

WHEN TO GO TO MEXICO

The coastal areas are hot and humid throughout the year, while the highlands have mild temperatures even in winter, where the dry season runs from November to April and this is the best time to visit the highlands of Mexico.
