Itinerary in Colorado and Wyoming: The Rocky Mountains

The Colorado and Wyoming itinerary described here is a circular itinerary that starts and ends in Denver. This itinerary allows you to visit in a minimum time of 14 nights some of the most beautiful national parks in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, in addition to the city of Denver. The total route excluding detours is approximately 2,100 miles. To do it in complete independence, it is advisable to book your rental car on time on the internet.

DENVER

1st day: Denver

Visit of the city of Denver.

Day 2: Denver-Great Sand Dunes National Park, 240 miles – about 4 hours (excluding time for park visit and stops).

Visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park.

MESA VERDE

Day 3: Great Sand Dunes National Park-Cortez, 220 miles – about 4 hours 30 minutes (excluding time for visiting the park and stopping).

Visit of the Mesa Verde National Park.

4th day: Cortez-Moab, 115 miles – about 2 hours

THE ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

5th day: Moab

Visit to Arches National Park and Canyolands National Park.

Day 6: Moab-Vernal, 220 miles – about 4 hours (excluding time for visiting the parks and stops).

On the way visit the Colorado National Monument and the Dinosaur National Monument.

Day 7: Vernal-Grand Teton National Park, 310 miles – about 7 hours

Day 12: Sundance-Badlands-Custer 225 miles – about 4 hours (excluding time for visiting the parks and stops).

Opportunity to visit Mount Rushmore National Memorial or Badlands National Park or Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park.
