Documents: For entry into Iceland, tourists from the European Union must present their passport or identity card. Children and minors must have their own passport / identity card. Citizens of some countries must apply for a Visa.
Driving license: To drive a car in Iceland you just need your own European national driving license.
Car insurance: European insurance is also valid in Iceland.

ICELAND: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Healthcare: Icelandic healthcare facilities are of an excellent standard. To receive medical treatment from the Icelandic health system, you must have a European Health Insurance Card. As a good rule on every trip, it is advisable to take out additional travel and medical expenses insurance.
Vaccinations: No vaccinations are required.
ICELAND: MOBILE PHONES AND INTERNET

Mobile Phones: In Iceland the mobile phone network is present in all populated areas. While in some areas of the uninhabited interior the signal may be poor or even missing.
Mobile telephone operators: Vodafone, Siminn (Iceland Telecom).
Internet: Internet cafes are found in all Icelandic cities and in most hotels. Many restaurants and cafes, especially in Reykjavik, have free WIFI access. Iceland is a high-tech country with one of the highest internet usage rates in the world. Furthermore, almost all hotels and B & Bs have free WIFI internet access for their customers.
ICELAND: POWER PLUGS AND ELECTRIC SOCKETS
Electricity: The electricity in Iceland is 220 volts.
Power plugs and sockets in Iceland: Type C and F power plugs and sockets are used in Iceland. These are the same power plugs and sockets used as standard throughout continental Europe.
ICELAND: CURRENCY AND BANKS
Banks and Currency: The Icelandic currency is the krona (“króna”, kr. Or ISK).
Credit Cards: Credit Cards are widely used in Iceland. The major cards accepted in Iceland are Europay / Mastercard and Visa. Most stores and hotels accept credit cards.
Bank Opening Hours: Icelandic banks are open Monday to Friday 09.15-16.00.
