HOW TO GET TO ESTONIA: FLIGHTS AND AIRPORTS

The plane is the fastest and most comfortable way to get to Estonia. The most important airport is that of Tallinn-Ülemiste (TLL), this is the only point of arrival for tourists who come from abroad by plane. Flights from various European capitals arrive at Tallinn airport including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Moscow, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Berlin, Warsaw, Riga, Vilnius, etc. Airlines that fly to Estonia include Air Baltic, Aeroflot, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, LOT, Vueling, Ryanair and EasyJet.

Domestic transport: The Estonian Air has flights between Tallinn and Kuressaare.

HOW TO GET TO ESTONIA: TRAINS

International Transport: Tallinn train station is located near the old town (it is only a 10 minute walk) and the port. The EVR Ekspress (Eesti Raudtee) company operates a daily service on direct night-trains to Moscow. A daily train connects Tallinn and St. Petersburg.

Internal Transport: The Estonian railway network covers approximately 1,200 km of tracks. The main routes are those that connect Tallinn with Saint Petersburg in Russia, with the city of Tartu and with Riga and Pskov.

HOW TO GET TO ESTONIA: FERRIES

International Transport: Ferries and fast ships: There are many connections between Tallinn and Helsinki by ferries, which take between 2 and 4 hours to travel the route between the two cities. During the summer, generally between June and September, connections are also made by fast ships and hydrofoils. In this case the stretch of sea is crossed in an hour and thirty minutes.

Tallinn is also connected by excellent ferry services with Sweden (Stockholm, 15 hour crossing), Finland (Åland / Ahvenanmaa), Russia (Saint Petersburg) and Germany (Rostock).
