Hong Kong is located on the Tropic of Cancer and has a monsoon type sub-tropical climate, characterized by hot and very wet summers, sometimes with the possibility of tropical cyclones, while winters are mild, sunny and dry. About 80% of rain falls between May and September.
The temperatures undergo small variations between the minimum average and maximum average, in winter there are in fact values of minimum average temperatures of 14°C and maximum average temperatures of 18°C, while in summer there are values respectively of 27°C and of 31°C.
The most rainy months are those from May to September, and August is the wettest month ever, however from November to May the rains fall drastically, the driest months are November, December and January, the average annual rainfall is 2380 mm.
Tropical cyclones are more likely in the months between July and September, but as long as cyclones can occur between May and November. The temperature of the seawater in Hong Kong varies between 21 ° C in January and 29 ° C in August.
WHEN TO GO TO HONG KONG
The best time to visit Hong Kong is during November and December, less rainy and with sunny days, while the months of January and February, too little rain, however, are often cloudy, even March and April are good months to visit Hong Kong, though sometimes foggy.
