Heilbronn am Neckar is a German city in Baden-Württemberg, located north of Stuttgart along the Neckar River valley. The city has medieval origins and was, for many centuries, a Free Imperial City, the years of its flowering and maximum splendor were those around the fifteenth century. The city is located in an important wine-producing area along the castle road (Burgenstraße), the oldest and most famous tourist road in Germany. The Heilbronn Christmas market is the most important Christmas event in this city in Germany.

HEILBRONN CHRISTMAS MARKET

1) Heilbronn Christmas Market (Heilbronner Weihnachtsmarkt). This market is usually held in front of the Kilianskirche, the 11th century Protestant Gothic church located in the city centre, on Marktplatz and Kiliansplatz. You will find numerous stalls of regional delicacies, gift items for the holidays, masterpieces of local craftsmanship, Christmas choirs and music, a large ice skating rink, a living nativity scene and many Christmas trees. The characteristic scents of anise and cinnamon pervade the streets of Heilbronn. The market with its festively decorated wooden huts occupies the suggestive scenery between the Town Hall, the Church of St. Kilian (Kilianskirche) and the Hafenmarktturm.
