Halle (Saale) is the most important city of the Land of Saxony-Anhalt, located along the Saale river, it is located a few kilometers northwest of Leipzig and southeast of Magdeburg. City of medieval origins, it was part of the Hanseatic League from the 13th century, birthplace of the famous composer Georg Friedrich Händel, one of the greatest musicians of the Baroque era, Halle (Saale) preserves interesting Renaissance, Baroque and neo-classical buildings.

Halle Christmas Market (Hallescher Weihnachtsmarkt). The market of this historic city of Saxony-Anhalt takes place in the squares of the historic center of Marktplatz, Hallmarkt and in Leipziger Straße. Made up of over 50 wooden stalls selling Christmas decorations, wooden toys, glass objects, wood sculptures, ceramics, and gastronomic delicacies not only from Germany but also from other European countries. You will find Santa’s reindeer and a typical Finnish village with specialties coming directly from Finland, an ice skating rink, a fairytale forest, a craft workshop and lots of entertainment for children, another attraction is the huge candle ‘Advent (Adventskerze) over 80 meters high.
