The land of the midnight sun, Greenland, is located in the far north of the planet and is one of the places where the natural phenomenon of the midnight sun occurs during the northern hemisphere summer. In this period in a large part of Greenland, that is the one located north of the Arctic Circle, the sun never sets.
In the far north of Greenland, the midnight sun is visible between the end of April and the end of August. While further south in the vicinity of the Arctic Circle, the midnight sun is visible between early June and mid-July.
In the area of Disko Bay and the town of Ilullissat, this natural phenomenon is visible between 21 May and 24 July. In the weeks before and after these dates the sun sets, but remains a few degrees below the horizon, so the night does not come and the sky is always bright. Only starting a couple of weeks after these dates does it begin to darken. The nights are very bright up to a month before and after the midnight sun period. On the other hand, in the middle of winter the night is continuous between 26 November and 13 January.
