Beautiful German town in Lower Saxony, ancient seat of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire, the historic center of Goslar is today, together with the nearby and ancient Rammelsberg mine, a place declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Goslar has an oval-plan historic center full of valuable buildings, the most important of which is the large imperial palace dating back to the 9th century, built in Romanesque style, it was the seat of the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire until the 13th century. The city is home to numerous churches with as many bell towers that create a particular atmosphere to the appearance of Goslar, then there are numerous wooden houses with splendid half-timbered architecture.

The Rammelsberg mine, where large quantities of silver and copper were extracted, is particularly interesting because it has been exploited since the Middle Ages and still has ancient buildings and artifacts from that period.
