Documents: For citizens of the European Union (including children and minors) the travel documents valid for entry into Germany are the Identity Card or Passport. For nationals of most countries the required travel document for entry in Germany is a valid passport. For some countries a visa is required.
Driving License: To drive in Germany you must have your National driving license.
Car Insurance: To drive your own car in Germany you must have a valid European insurance.

GERMANY: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Healthcare in Germany: German healthcare facilities and medical staff are of an excellent standard. To have public assistance in Germany you need to be in possession of the European Health Insurance Card. A travel insurance that also includes any medical costs incurred can always be useful.

Telephones: The international dialling code for Germany is 0049.
Mobile Phones in Germany: European GSM mobile phones that are enabled to receive or transmit, with roaming in the countries where this system is present, work without problems in Germany. Note especially that the signal coverage is excellent.
Mobile operators in Germany: Telekom, Vodafone, O2.
Internet in Germany: Public internet access points are widespread. There are also many free wireless internet points. Most hotels and tourist facilities have free Wi-Fi internet for their customers.

Electricity: In Germany the usual mains voltage in homes and hotels is 230 Volt 50 Hz.

Currency: The national currency of Germany is Euro (EUR).
Banks Opening Hours: open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 16.30.
GERMANIA: SHOPS
Shops opening: Shops in Germany are usually open Monday to Saturday from 09.00 to 19.00. In city centers, most shops run continuously. Shops are closed on Sunday, with the exception of bakeries, which often remain open on Sunday mornings.
