Germany is a country mostly flat, due to the scarcity of mountains, the German climate is subject to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean, this means that the main climatic characteristics are temperatures with low seasonal differences and rainfall in each period of year.

The German climatic regions can be divided into different areas, to the north-west, along the North Sea, the climate is oceanic, with mild temperatures and frequent rains. In the extreme north, along the Baltic Sea, the climate is always oceanic but has colder temperatures and less precipitation.

Along the Rhine valley, the climate is mild in winter and hot and dry in summer, while in the eastern and central areas of the country feels the influence of continental climate this area have long cold winters and hot dry summers, with marked differences in seasonal temperatures. While at the extreme south of Germany in the mountains of the Bavarian Alps the climate is alpine with cold winters and rainy summers.

In summer, temperatures range from 16°C in the north-west coast (Hamburg area), through the 18-19°C of the interior (near Stuttgart), up to 20°C in the Rhine Valley. In winter the temperature values ​​ranging from -3°C in Berlin to 2°C in Aachen.

The rains, the quantity of which varies little in relation to months, are scoring average annual values ​​between 500 mm of the Eastern areas and 900 mm close to the Bavarian mountains.

The best time for a trip to Germany is among the hottest spring and summer months, although the summer months are the wettest months of the year.
