Flensburg Christmas Market

German city overlooking the Baltic Sea located near the border with Denmark, of which it belonged until 1864, Flensburg was founded by the Danes in the thirteenth century and became one of the most important ports in Scandinavia in the sixteenth century, and was until the nineteenth century Denmark’s second port after Copenhagen, with trade links in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. The city was untouched by the bombings of the Second World War, was the seat of the last government of the Third Reich, and has a well-preserved historic center with purely Danish characteristics.

FLENSBURG CHRISTMAS MARKET

Flensburg Christmas Market (Flensburger Weihnachtsmarkt). Scandinavian-style Christmas market, the market is located in two squares the Südermarkt and the Nordermarkt, the approximately 60 stalls offer artistic crafts (Danish and German) and gastronomic specialties such as toasted almonds and baked apples. During Christmas the squares and streets of the pedestrianized historic center of Flensburg are festively decorated, you will find a large Christmas tree and many events for young and old.
