Bonn, the birthplace of Ludwig van Beehthoven and the former capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, is an interesting city to visit, conveniently located along the Rhine on one of the most beautiful stretches of its course.

The historic center is very beautiful with a remarkable rococo-style town hall (Rathaus), the beautiful Castle of the Prince Elector (Kurfürstliches Schloss), an ancient Romanesque cathedral (Münster) built in the 11th century.

The city is full of important museums and galleries, such as the Rhineland Regional Museum (Rheinisches Landesmuseum), the Art Museum (Kunstmuseum) and the Museum of Contemporary History (Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland) and houses the home of Ludwig van Beehthoven transformed into a museum.

BONN CHRISTMAS MARKETS

1) Bonn Christmas Market (Bonner Weihnachtsmarkt). The Christmas market is usually held in the three squares of Münsterplatz, Bottlerplatz and Friedensplatz and in the streets that connect these three squares, it is made up of many stalls selling products of the Christmas and typical local cuisine, Christmas crafts, with many proposals for your gifts and those of your children. The musical program is usually remarkable, and it could not be otherwise, being the city of Beethoven, with Christmas carols and classical music events. Do not miss a visit to the large Advent calendar into which the Town Hall is transformed. You will find an ice skating rink and for children there will be a laboratory dedicated to them.

Tourists who visit Bonn during the Advent period will enjoy a unique atmosphere throughout the city. Thanks to the Christmas markets, Bonn is full of life and events. Let yourself be enchanted by the Christmas atmosphere on a stroll through the city center, which is filled with the scent of mulled wine, baked apples and potato pancakes.

In the four different districts of Bonn there are other smaller Christmas markets.
