Besançon, the ancient Vesontium of the Romans, capital of Franche-Comté, located a short distance from the border with Switzerland, is a city with a rich historical and cultural heritage, notable for its system of fortifications (fortifications Vauban) dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries century and which has earned it inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Besançon Christmas Market (Marché de Noël – Promenade Granvelle). The traditional Christmas market usually fills the Place Granvelle with over one hundred wooden chalets where you can find handicrafts, gift ideas and gastronomic products. The Christmas Bistro (Le Bistrot de Noël) is usually set up at the foot of the large illuminated tree. For the children you will find the house of Santa Claus (Maison du Père Noël), and perhaps it will be possible to meet Santa Claus, with the Christmas toy showcase, and perhaps it will also be possible to take a ride on the back of donkeys, usually there is a carousel with many other attractions and games.

Brocante de Noël in Micropolis – parc des expositions – with more than 200 exhibitors usually offering a multitude of curiosities, antiques, records, books, period furniture and many other exceptional objects full of history and coming from another time.
