Stralsund is a historic town on the Baltic Sea, in the past this city was an important center belonging to the Hanseatic League, its medieval old town, well preserved, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has interesting historic buildings such as the town hall and several merchant palaces and churches. STRALSUND CHRISTMAS MARKET
1) Stralsund Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt Stralsund). The market takes place in the main square of Stralsund, the Alter Markt, and extends in the ancient streets of the city up to the Neuer Markt in a very suggestive setting. There are specialties such as toasted almonds, mulled wine, German sausages, etc. An ice skating rink is set up in the Old Market Square (Neuer Markt). The Christmas Market also takes place in the famous vaulted basement of the Stralsund Town Hall, where artists and creatives, traders and craftsmen present their works of art. The aroma of marzipan, mulled wine and other delicacies of the region pervade the entire market.
