Ludwigsburg is located just 10 km north of Stuttgart, its origins date back to the 18th century when Duke Eberhard Ludwig of Württemberg decided to build a large Baroque castle, the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg, a beautiful residence with an equally beautiful Baroque garden. The palace now houses three museums: the Baroque Gallery, with paintings by Baroque artists; the Porcelain Museum and the Fashion Museum. The Ludwigsburg Christmas market brings Christmas to life in this German city.
LUDWIGSBURG CHRISTMAS MARKET
1) Baroque Christmas Market (Ludwigsburger Barock-Weihnachtsmarkt). The market usually occupies the beautiful Marktplatz overlooked by the Evangelische Stadtkirche (Evangelical church) and the Katholische Pfarrkirche (Catholic church). Full of illuminations that make the atmosphere of this historic town even more evocative, Christmas in Ludwigsburg is an event full of attractions, you can stroll through the stalls and admire the local handicrafts (ceramic objects, Christmas decorations, wool and silk) or taste the delicacies of German cuisine such as Holzofendinnede (cake with cream), and gingerbread, or warm up with mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. Then there are lots of games and entertainment for children.
