The city of Augsburg is the ancient Augusta Vindelicorum founded by the Romans in 15 AD. as the arrival point of the Via Claudia, it is today an important city in Bavaria, and after Trier it is the oldest city in Germany. In addition to the Roman era, Augsburg was also important during the Renaissance, so much so that it was known as the Florence of Germany.
