Kufstein is the second city, by number of inhabitants, of the Austrian Tyrol, located near the border with Bavaria, in the valley of the river Inn, between Salzburg and Innsbruck.
The most important attraction of the village is the medieval castle of Kufstein (Festung Kufstein) which dominates the city, the old town located at the foot of the fortress is also worth a visit.
KUFSTEIN CHRISTMAS MARKETS
1) Kufstein Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt im Stadtpark Kufstein). The market usually takes place in the city center in the city park, where you can find Christmas objects and decorations, Tyrolean handicrafts and typical Advent food products with the ever-present mulled wine. At this classic Christmas market you will find live music and a rich special program for children with Christmas stories, fairy tales, ponies, a toy train and a nostalgic carousel. Gourmets will find “bread” for their teeth with Tyrolean specialties such as Zillertal donuts and Kiachl und Blattln with cabbage.
2) Christmas market at Kufstein Castle (Weihnachtszauber auf der Festung Kufstein). Traditional Christmas market in a historic setting made of tradition and originality. In this market the traditional trades of Tyrolean craftsmanship are presented, the event will also be accompanied by Christmas carols and carols. There are stands with culinary delicacies, local arts and crafts and exquisite gift ideas. For the little ones you will find Santa’s fabulous workshop and a bakery.
