Baden-Baden is a famous spa town in Baden-Württemberg, located a few km from the border with France and only 50 km north-east of Strasbourg. Located close to the famous Black Forest, a large wooded and mountainous area in south-western Germany, the thermal properties of its springs were also known to the ancient Romans, but the city became famous starting from the 19th century, Baden-Baden is today the most picturesque German spa town. The Baden-Baden Christmas Market attracts thousands of visitors from Germany and neighboring countries every year.
BADEN-BADEN CHRISTMAS MARKET
Baden-Baden Christmas Market (Christkindelsmarkt Baden-Baden).
The Baden-Baden Christmas Market, one of the largest in the region, starts at the Kurhaus Colonnade and runs through the city to the Kurhaus, the building of Baden-Baden’s thermal baths. In the Market and in the shops of the Kurhaus Colonnade you will find local handicrafts, wooden toys and decorative candles. Then there are also clothes, antiques, ceramics and porcelain, and finally the inevitable gastronomic specialties of Christmas, with sweets, mulled wine, toasted almonds and gingerbread. Christmas in Baden-Baden is rounded off with plenty of entertainment for young and old.
The scent of mulled wine and gingerbread accompanies visitors as they walk among the over 100 Christmas stalls that make up the Baden Baden Christmas market. The “Living Crib” is another of the special attractions of Christmas in Baden-Baden.
