Bad Wimpfen Christmas Market

Bad Wimpfen is a small spa town in Baden-Württemberg, located about 60 km north of Stuttgart and a few kilometers north of Heilbronn. The city has its origins in a Roman camp and then as a provincial city of the empire. During the Middle Ages Bad Wimpfen developed as an important market place, this led to an intense architectural development of the town and numerous important monuments were erected, which today have made it one of the most beautiful historic towns in Germany. The Bad Wimpfen Christmas Market is one of the most evocative markets in Germany.

BAD WIMPFEN CHRISTMAS MARKET

During the Christmas period, this beautiful town hosts one of the most evocative and fascinating Christmas markets in Germany. In fact, in this scenario made up of wooden houses and buildings, a market is held here that evokes the ancient medieval markets, with characters in costume, soldiers, knights, ladies, etc.

Christmas in Bad Wimpfen is made to measure for children, obviously Santa Claus and Baby Jesus are not missing, on the streets children receive small gifts and sweets, there are many attractions to play and have fun. The squares, houses and streets of the city are illuminated by festoons and Christmas light bulbs, there are numerous Christmas trees all lit up for the holidays. A beautiful exhibition of nativity scenes can be found at the Old Hospital (Alten Spital).

Medieval Christmas Market (Altdeutscher Weihnachstmarkt). The Market takes place (usually only on weekends: Friday, Saturday and Sunday) in the historic center, in the beautiful Kaiserpfalz, and is made up of over 150 wooden houses.
