Rüdesheim am Rhein is a small characteristic village in the Rhine Valley, located west of Wiesbaden, famous for its vineyards, and for its characteristic historic center, which have made it one of the most visited destinations in the Rheingau, the hilly region along the Rhine Valley.
The entire area around Rüdesheim is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley (Rhine Gorge, between Koblenz and Bingen).
RÜDESHEIM AM RHEIN CHRISTMAS MARKET
1) Rüdesheim am Rhein Christmas Market. In this small town the Christmas Market of the Nations (Rüdesheimer Weihnachtsmarkt der Nationen) is held, a market whose main attraction is the stalls set up with goods from 12 different nations of the world, which exhibit their products, their handicrafts, and present their Christmas traditions. The market extends along the Drosselgasse and for a large part of the historic center. The local winemakers will open their cellars and invite you to taste their wines, while the village inns will welcome you with typical Rheingau cuisine.
Rüdesheim also offers its visitors the largest Crib in Europe, set up in the Market Square (Marktplatz), with life-size characters. Finally, there are many other Advent events organized in this village: concerts, shows, parades and Christmas carols and choirs.
