The Christmas market in Florence fills one of the most beautiful squares of the city, Piazza Santa Croce, which overlooks the beautiful Gothic Franciscan church that holds immense works of art (frescoes by Giotto and Taddeo Gaddi, Cappella de’ Pazzi by Brunelleschi, tomb of Leonardo Bruni of Rossellini, Crucifix by Cimabue), and the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo Galilei.
All the historical center of Florence is one of the world heritage sites of UNESCO.

1) Christmas Market in Piazza Santa Croce (Mercatino di Natale Tedesco – Weihnachtsmarkt). The marketplace of Florence continues the tradition of the classic Christmas markets in Germany, in the magnificent setting of the Piazza Santa Croce is in fact recreated a traditional Christmas village with wooden chalets and many decorations and illuminations.
The exhibitors, who are over 50, have items for the Nativity and Christmas decorations, gift ideas, but many are also proposals for the palate with exhibitors from all over Italy offering their typical products.
A portion of the market also offers typical German products of Christmas as gingerbread, and sweets like strudel. In the square is also a beautiful carousel for children.
