Switzerland tourist attractions: what to see in Switzerland

The tourist attractions of Switzerland are par excellence the green pastures, the alpine lakes and the majestic mountains of the Alpine chain. In this country, natural attractions are undoubtedly the main reason for a visit. The direct contact with nature, the winter centers, the variety of landscapes, cultures, languages of Switzerland, concentrated on a small area, are the strong point of this country.

But Switzerland also has much more to offer tourists. The country has numerous cities with historic centers of great beauty. Swiss cities are symbols of culture and modern well-being, are cities on a human scale, with excellent public services and really pleasant to visit.

WHAT TO SEE IN SWITZERLAND

Among the most beautiful cities from an artistic point of view is the capital of Switzerland, Bern, which UNESCO has included among the heritages of humanity. But there are also Lucerne, Freiburg, Zurich, St. Gallen, Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Chur and Basel. In addition, there are a number of really valuable small towns such as Baden in Aargau, Stein am Rhein in the canton of Schaffhausen, Bellinzona in the Canton of Ticino just to name a few.

Among the most famous ski and mountain resorts in Switzerland we find tourist attractions such as the Engadine in the canton of Graubünden which has its fulcrum in the mundane locality par excellence of Switzerland, the town of St. Moritz.

Other important destinations are located in the Bernese Oberland where the ski centers of Grindelwald, Gstaad, Interlaken and Adelboden are located. Another area very popular with winter sports enthusiasts is the Valais mountains where centers such as Zermatt, Crans-Montana and Saas Fee stand out.

Very popular are the holiday resorts along the many Swiss lakes, including those located along Lake Geneva such as Montreux, Nyon, Morges and Vevey, along the Lake Lucerne where the historic city of Lucerne, Lake Neuchâtel stands , Lake Zurich, Lake Maggiore, with Locarno and Ascona, and Lake Lugano.
