ECUADOR: DOCUMENTS
Documents: To enter Ecuador you must have a passport with validity beyond the period of stay in the country. Even children and minors must have a personal passport.
Entry visa: Usually not necessary, for tourism up to 90 days of stay in the country. However, for citizens of some particular countries it is required.

ECUADOR: HEALTH INSURANCE, TRAVEL INSURANCE, AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Healthcare: The level of public health care is rather poor, while hospitals and private clinics in the main cities are good. Travel and health insurance that includes all medical costs is highly recommended for the traveler.
Vaccinations: Vaccination against hepatitis A and B and antitifica are recommended. Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory for those who come from countries where yellow fever is present.

Telephones: Ecuador’s international dialing code is 00593.
Mobile Phones: The technologies used in the Ecuadorian network are those: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA.
Mobile operators: Claro, Movistar, Alegro.
Internet: Many hotels have free or paid Internet connections, only in the cities there are Internet points.
ECUADOR: POWER PLUGS AND ELECTRIC SOCKETS
Electricity: The electric current in Ecuador is 120 Volts, 60 Hz.
Electrical outlets: The power plugs and sockets used in Ecuador are type A and B. Both types of power plugs and sockets are the same as those used in the United States of America. A universal adapter is required for European electronic devices.
ECUADOR: CURRENCY AND BANKS
Currency: The monetary unit in Ecuador is the Sucre (ECS), but in fact the US dollar is used throughout the country.
Banks: The opening times of bank branches in Ecuador are as follows: Monday to Friday from 9 to 13.30. Some banks remain open longer and sometimes even on Saturdays. The Casas de Cambio are open Monday to Friday from 9 to 18 and on Saturday from 9 to 12.
