The island of Java has an equatorial climate hot and humid, with stable temperatures throughout the year, the temperature changes are small. The rains are more between November and May, the wettest months of all are those of January and February, the dry season begins in June and ends in October.
Most of the island receives between 1,600 mm and 2,000 mm of rain per year, the rains fall mainly in the afternoon. The mountainous areas are more humid than the rest of the island, here in some areas such as in the plateau of Parahyangan fall more than 4,000 mm of rain per year.
The average maximum temperatures vary between 30°C and 32°C, while the average minimum temperatures ranging between 23°C and 25°C. The southern coasts are slightly cooler than the Northern Plains, while the altitude mitigates the climate and temperatures of the mountain areas of the island’s interior.
The sea water temperature is constantly between 26°C and 29°C.
WHEN TO GO TO JAVA
The best time to visit the island of Java are the months between July and October, which are drier and less rainy.
